3 Takeaways from the 2019 Canadian Innovation Conference

The 2019 Canadian Innovation Conference, (brought to you by the PCMA Canada East Chapter), was designed to connect meeting and event professionals and suppliers with Canadian industry decision-makers, provide learning opportunities on the latest technology trends and create lasting connections in a smaller, more intimate conference environment.

This year’s theme was Reimagine.

  • Reimagine innovation
  • Reimagine progress
  • Reimagine the industry

Bespoke Audio Visual’s Mark Millar was able to take part in this year’s conference. Here are some of his takeaways.

1. Social Selling

Marketing your company on social spaces has become the norm and is imperative to a company’s success. It’s more than just having your name on a website. A social selling plan needs to be properly built and if done right, it can increase revenue and productivity.

2. Understand Your Business Partners

Taking the time to understand your business partners’ needs is key in creating a top-notch proposal and a relationship that will make them feel comfortable working with you. While the budget is always an important factor when trying to understand what your business partner is trying to achieve, you not only have to provide them with products & services that fit within that budget, you must also provide options to enhance their event.

3.The Importance of an Involved Team

While many people think they work better alone, the truth is a good team can make things so much easier and situations less stressful. We all have busy lives and are not always available, so having a backup who understands and is involved in your event is imperative.

Overall PCMA CIC 2020 was a great success with some hot topics that affect planners, suppliers and venues. The key takeaway from the event is to work together as a team because everyone wants to achieve a successful outcome.
