3 Takeaways from the 2019 Canadian Meetings + Events Expo

Melissa Deslauriers on August 29, 2019

The Canadian Meetings + Events Expo is the largest and longest-running tradeshow and conference for meeting and event professionals.

This year boasted 350+ exhibitors representing 700+ companies on the trade show floor. Offering on-trend innovations, opportunities to do business, and a chance to connect and build relationships – the event was designed to help planners enrich their business.

Bespoke Audio Visual was delighted to take part in this year’s event, allowing us to showcase our talents, reconnect with clients and meet new industry peers.

Here are my 3 takeaways from the 2019 Canadian Meetings + Events Expo.

1. The Learning Lounge

A highlight of the show floor was the Learning Lounge. Situated on the trade show floor, this had knowledgeable speakers on everything from gender equality and inclusion, to cannabis tourism, and event trends. This was a great way to give attendees solid information and ideas while meeting with suppliers in between.

2. The Conference

In addition to the trade show component, the Canadian Meetings + Events Expo offered a two-day conference to build skills and accelerate your career. With over 24 sessions, attendees gained from the best minds, invested in leading business practices, advanced their knowledge and earned CE credits.

3. Sessions and Workshops

The education sessions and workshops were designed to provide insight, tips and applicable learning experiences for every level of planner, regardless of where you are in your career, and they delivered. From travel security, event disasters from those who experienced it (& survived), along with tips & tricks to up your LinkedIn game. All of these were designed with the planner in mind. In fact, there were so many good sessions that overlapped it was hard to choose.

Mark the 2020 Canadian Meetings + Events Expo in your calendar for August 18 and 19.

At Bespoke Audio Visual, we believe in continuing education, learning from those who have lived it, sharing our knowledge and embracing technology and trends.
