5 Tips for Planning Your Holiday Party
As the holiday season draws near, it’s time to start planning your organization’s annual holiday party. Here are our 5 tips for making your event a success!
1. Start Planning Early
Hopefully, you’ve had a chance to start thinking about your annual holiday party, but if you haven’t, it’s not too late! Start the conversation this week and make your to-do list. Divvy up the tasks amongst team members to take the pressure off of one person.
2. Choose a Fun Theme
Make the evening fun! A theme can help you plan the decor, choose the menu and specialty drinks and allow your guests to dress for the evening. Consider including a photo station (with props) that corresponds with your theme so that your guests have a keepsake to take home to remember the night.
3. Find a Unique Venue
It’s important to choose an event space that can accommodate your group numbers. Think about how you will use the space. Will you have a sit-down dinner or a buffet? Will there be a dance floor or just space to mingle? Will you have a DJ or other live entertainment? Will there be speeches or other activations? Will guests be allowed to bring a plus one?
4. Create an Event Hashtag
Create a hashtag for your event that your guests can include on their social media posts. This is a great way to find photos from the evening. Make your hashtag memorable and display it prominently so that everyone is aware it exists.
5. Work With a Skilled Audio Visual Company
Working with an experienced audio visual company can elevate the success of your event. Great sound and lighting can take your event to the next level. Not every event space will have an in-house audio visual team so you may need to hire an external company.
